facilities of its kind. The fact that you pay no large up-front fee makes NBA California

When you move in, do you have to turn all of your assets over to

No major investment of assets is required.

Are there any activities at the Home? |

Actually, many residents have been known to happily complain
that there are too many activities to choose from: Bible study, educational and recreational activities, off-campus
excursions to the theater and the beach.

Is the NBA California Christian Home a low-income retirement community? |

The Home is not a HUD or low-income subsidized facility. Currently, we do
not accept persons on SSI. There are some Medi-Cal admissions into our Skilled Nursing
Center when Medi-Cal beds are available.

Are there any age restrictions on when you can move in? |

Residents must be 60 years of age or older. There is no upper age limit.

Can you move to NBA California Christian Home if you use a canes, walker or
wheelchair? |

Our residents may use canes, walkers or wheelchairs in many living areas.

Does the Home only accept members of the Christian Church Disciples of
Christ? |

While many of our residents are Christian Church members, we currently
have more than 17 different denominations represented at the Home.

Can residents have their own automobiles at the Home? |

Yes, many of our residents have their own cars. For those who don't, we
offer transportation to medical and dental appointments within a six-mile radius, and
weekly grocery shopping trips.

Can I bring my own furniture? |

Yes, all apartments are unfurnished. Efficiency kitchens are provided in
Rose Manor and all garden apartments.

What meals are included? |

In Rose Manor and garden apartments two meals per day, in assisted living and care center,
three meals per day are provided.

Can I have my own telephone? |

Yes, residents have their own private phones, which do not go through the
central switchboard.

Do I need to sign in and out every time I leave the building? |

No, we do not have a sign-out procedure. Because we are a licensed
retirement facility (RCFE) we would like to know when you are gone from the premises
should we need to get in touch with you.

Can I keep my HMO or personal doctor? |

The Home has a medical director who is available in case of an emergency.
However, all residents use their own personal physician whether they have Medicare or an
HMO.

Must applicants qualify financially every year, or be required to leave? |

Applicants are required to qualify only one time: upon admittance. An
annual financial update is required.

Will the Home ask you to leave if you run out of funds? |

Our contract states that your residence is a month-to-month agreement.
However, the financial qualification process and the availability of the Fellowship of
John and other benevolent care funds have never made it necessary to ask a resident to
leave because of an inability to pay.

Yes, it's included in the services provided.
